Recently, while using my kindle reader, out of nowhere, the screen just turned white displaying nothing. I tried some troubleshooting like pressing the power key, connecting it to USB and etc, but the screen didn't change. Hoping that i didn't brick it, i searched some forums for this issue and luckily i got the fix.
This is a known issue in kindle readers and is commonly referred as "White Screen of Death". Below are the steps to fix this issue.
Steps to resolve:
- Press the power button for 20-30 seconds until the screen flashes i.e. it turns black and then white.
- Release the power button.
- The Kindle will then reboot ( while rebooting, a tree will be shown along with a progress bar.
- Once the boot is complete, Voila, the screen is back to normal.
